A few days ago, I shared a Jeopardy-style PowerPoint file that can be used for an end-of-semester review in introductory financial accounting classes. In this post, I am sharing a Jeopardy-style game that covers basic topics within an introductory managerial accounting course.
This PowerPoint file contains a Jeopardy-style game suitable for use in an introductory financial accounting class. There are six categories: Introductory concepts, Job costing, ABC, C-V-P, Budgeting, and Performance evaluation. There is a Daily Double question and a Final Jeopardy question. Audio is included in the PowerPoint file for optional use.
All of the answers and related questions are based on Managerial Accounting, 5th edition, Braun & Tietz, Pearson Education, 2017. The content should apply to other introductory managerial accounting textbooks as well.
Acknowledgment: To create this Jeopardy-style game, I used a PowerPoint template created by Reid Powell.
Tips for use
- Be sure to practice with the PowerPoint file in presentation mode before class.
- This PowerPoint file runs best using Windows, not Mac. Also, it must be run using Microsoft PowerPoint (not Google Slides.)
- You can edit any of the answers and related questions as you see fit. You cannot, however, add and delete slides due to the links to the Jeopardy board.
- To reset the links on the main board back to yellow, close the PowerPoint file and re-0pen – all the links will be back to yellow.
- During the review in class, you will need to keep score manually since there is no built-in scoring mechanism.
